Campus Placement At Apeejay Institute Of Management Technical Campus

The placement record of Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus is one of the finest among all the management and technical institutes of the region. Mr.  Vikas and Ms. Sucheta visited the campus for recruitment. The placement process started with a Pre placement talk by the officials of the  company and was followed by a technical test. The shortlisted students were then interviewed by the officials. Two students Simarjeet Singh and Tamanna got seleted. These two students will first undergo a training programme. Jobs swing in: Pre-placement offers up 50% at IITs; highest compensation tops Rs 1 crore

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are seeing a jump of up to 50% in pre-placement offers(PPOs) from the year before. That's good news for students at the premier engineering schools — more of them will now have jobs in hand even before final placements kick off in December.

By September last year, IIT Madras had received about 35 PPOs compared with almost 50 this year. IIT Bombay has so far received 123 PPOs, exceeding the 110 it got all of last year. IIT Kanpur has received 90, which is 24 more than the tally by last September. IIT Kharagpur has seen a spurt of almost 55% in PPOs to 142 until now from 92 ast year. Several investment banking and financial services companies are making a comeback to IIT campuses after a gap of two years or so. These include JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Barclays at Madras and Kharagpur. Other are making their debut, like Credit Suisse and Capital One at IIT Bombay. GITAM students bag lucrative offers

GITAM University, Hyderabad Campus has made a kick start of its Campus Placements for the academic session 2015-16. Software service providers, like Tech Mahindra, NTT Data, Virtusa, Commvault, 
Mu Sigma and Modal N have together issued good number of job offers with highest pay package to the students of GITAM University, Hyderabad Campus. 
Most of the students selected for a package of Rs.5.5 Lakhs per annum, T&P Director Dr. N.Venukumar announced on Monday.
The companies selected the candidates on the basis of a written test followed by Group Discussion and a rigorous interview round. 
The first phase of campus placement program held for the current final year students across various branches of B.Tech programs.
About 40% students got the offer letters from various companies even in the month end of September, 2015. 
It may be mentioned that last year for 2014-15 academic session, GITAM had achieved 92 percent placements by 87 companies,

LU ties up with co for job-oriented course

Lucknow University has joined hands with Bosch India for a short-term job oriented vocational training program. The two-month training program is meant for for school and college dropouts of 18 to 25 years of age. The training would be imparted to the needy children through National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) partners and other vocational training institutes.

Aiming to reduce the rate of unemployment by enabling employability of youth, the programme consists of eight modules including communication skill, personality development, positive attitude, self-discipline and interview skills, customer service, domain specific knowledge, internship, spoken English and basic computers. The program particularly offers training on soft skills and job-specific skills. The highlight is on-the-job training and placement assistance in various industries.

The orientation program for students who are interested is likely to be held between October 13 and 17. The last date to apply is October 5. For complete story and details see here

IGNOU’s placement: 86 students bag jobs

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) organised a campus placement drive for students, at its Maidan Garhi campus in which four companies including multinational giants hired 86 students out of 432 aspirants.
The drive was organized by the Campus Placement Cell (CPC) of IGNOU as part of its drive every month in different parts ofthe country.

The companies included Go-Ibibo.com, Convergys, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. and Policy Bazaar. Policy Bazaar and Convergys gave on the spot offer letter to the successful candidates with a CTC between 21,000 to 25,000 per month and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. gave package of Rs 1.8 lakh per annum to the selected students.

Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sushma Yada, who was present during the drive said, "I welcome all the students, who have turned up for the drive; I would also like to congratulate you for being part of the world's largest university, as IGNOU ia brand." She thanked the companies for participating in the drive.
The companies claimed they selected students with good and effective communication skills. HR Manager, GO-Ibibo.com said, "In this competitive world, we have an expectation that, the candidate should at least be a graduate and should have impeccable communication and promising skills to get selected."
"I am really thankful to IGNOU for providing me this platform. Despite of learning in an Open University, we are also provided chance for campus placement that too coming from a regional centre and I am very much satisfied with the package the company gave.", said a student who was offered job by Go-Ibibo.com.
"CPC has been regularly organising placement drives for female students for cabin crew for leading airlines at different Regional Centres. In this month, six such drives were conducted in the western part of the country," said Manoj Kulshrestha, Director Incharge, CPC.

Accenture helps skill training in Rajasthan

Accenture has been helping the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) in its efforts to reduce unemployment and help provide skills training to people in the State of Rajasthan.
Accenture, which has been providing the RSLDC with strategic project-management support, recently helped develop and implement an information technology system for real-time monitoring of the organization’s work to build skills and reduce unemployment in Rajasthan.
The two-year effort has supported RSDLC’s goal of closing the skills gaps and reducing unemployment in concert with national skills-training and placement service providers. Accenture is also providing action plans to help RSLDC build a stronger skill development ecosystem in Rajasthan.
“This association with RSLDC marks Accenture’s first foray into the skills and livelihood space at the state level in India,” said Sanjeev Gupta, managing director of Accenture’s Health & Public Service practice in India. “Our deep experience with training systems, broad range of work for other government agencies in India, and prior involvement with other skill councils provided a solid foundation to implement this project.”
Shri Gaurav Goyal, managing director of the RSLDC, said “This partnership with Accenture has helped us advance our objective of implementing appropriate and innovative strategies to promote and facilitate, on a large scale, improved livelihoods for the poor and vulnerable members of society. Placement drive at BBK DAV College

Amritsar: As many as 37 students of BBK DAV College for Women were selected in a campus placement drive organised by the placement cell of the institute here on Monday. A total of 120 students of BCA, BSc (IT), BSc (CSc), BSc (eco) and BCom (regular) final year participated and went through various phases of the drive like extempore, voice recognition and aptitude test.
